UH-CTAHR Local and Immigrant Farmer Education and Risk Management Hawaii programs are conducting informational workshops about the coffee berry borer. Workshops are slated from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Aug. 6 at the Kona Cooperative Extension Service Conference Room, 79-7381 Mamalahoa Highway, Kealakekua.

CTAHR’s Coffee and Orchard Crops Extension Agent Andrea Kawabata and Hawaii Department of Agriculture Entomologist Rob Curtiss, will share CBB management and sampling protocols. Coffee farmer Bob Nelson will talk about his CBB projects and preliminary findings. CTAHR Extension Economist Stuart Nakamoto will discuss risk management and coffee crop insurance policies.
